Outpatient Treatment Programs in New Jersey

Aliya Health Group’s New Jersey outpatient programs offer continuing care services to help you achieve long-term health and wellness. It is important to note, that outpatient treatment services are best suited for individuals who are no longer struggling with active substance abuse or mental health crises.

Our New Jersey outpatient treatment programs include:

Clients who join our treatment programming can move between the levels as they improve and are ready to take the next step. Staying in treatment throughout the different levels is the best way to heal from addiction and achieve lasting sobriety.

Our dedicated team in New Jersey is committed to supporting clients throughout outpatient treatment, helping them achieve their goals, develop effective coping skills, and address the underlying causes of addiction. Our comprehensive approach to treatment combines evidence-based therapies, trauma-informed care, experiential groups, family integration, and case management to empower clients in their recovery journey.

Partial Hospitalization in NJ

Our partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a treatment option for anyone needing a flexible approach to care. In general, a partial hospitalization program in NJ is the first level of care for those seeking treatment in an outpatient setting.

PHP in our New Jersey treatment center allows clients to attend therapy and counseling sessions for four to six hours, five days a week. These programs often include meetings with your case manager and counselors who guide you through life skills training. In PHP, skills training provides education on financial planning, paying rent, resume building, and job interviews. Likewise, therapists will help you practice coping skills for emotional management, communication, and self-advocacy in real-life situations.

Outside your time in our NJ treatment center, you can live at home or in supportive housing. For this reason, PHP is ideal for those with a solid foundation of skills that can offer internal support as people reintegrate into their daily routines.

Intensive Outpatient in NJ

Following PHP, you can move into our intensive outpatient program (IOP) in NJ for ongoing care. As a step-down program, an intensive outpatient program for mental health and/or substance abuse provides greater flexibility in creating your treatment schedule.

While attending intensive outpatient therapy in NJ, you also participate in fewer required hours in our treatment facility. Individuals are in a later stage of their recovery, meaning they are more seasoned in practicing healthy coping skills that support self-sufficiency and accountability.

With more time in between sessions, people can ease back into managing a greater amount of responsibilities such as childcare or a full-time job. Likewise, this lower level of care demands less travel time for anyone who prefers to commute to our center while living at home.

Traditional Outpatient in NJ

A traditional outpatient program (OP) is the final level of care in treatment for addiction and mental health, offering the least restrictions and most flexibility. Typically, outpatient care includes up to nine hours of treatment each week. These sessions often incorporate medication management, therapy, and holistic treatment services.

During our outpatient therapy in NJ, you can practice the skills you’ve learned throughout treatment alongside your peers while planning for the future. For this reason, outpatient programs in NJ provide ongoing support as you adjust to a greater sense of independence. That way, you will be fully self-sufficient once you decide to complete your time in treatment.

New Jersey Transitional Housing

During outpatient treatment, clients can benefit from staying at home to supervise their daily responsibilities. For this reason, outpatient treatment is most beneficial for those who are confident in managing their symptoms without the inpatient structure of higher levels of care. With that being said, many individuals also choose to stay in transitional housing in New Jersey for additional support.

Transitional housing, also known as sober living in rehab, can assist people in outpatient treatment for substance abuse and/or mental health. This type of housing allows individuals to reestablish a sense of independence while still having access to resources and guidance from professionals and peers. It can also serve as a stepping stone for those who are not quite ready to fully integrate back into their daily lives, providing a gradual transition into independence.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment in New Jersey

A co-occurring disorder involves the simultaneous presence of substance abuse and mental illness within an individual. The term “dual diagnosis” is applied when an individual is diagnosed with both a substance use disorder and a mental health condition, recognizing the interconnected nature of these issues as observed by medical professionals.

The relationship between substance abuse and mental health challenges is unfortunately common. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), nearly 38% of 20 million adults with substance use disorders (SUD) also suffer from mental illnesses, which is roughly 8 million people.

Examples of frequently observed co-occurring disorders include:

If you are struggling with addiction and/or your mental health, I can not recommend FTR highly enough. Their therapists and medical staff are all excellent. Most importantly, they foster a sense of community amongst their patients and create an environment of positivity and acceptance. Their staff are also knowledgeable about the local recovery community, which made it easy for me to transition out of treatment and into a routine that supports my sobriety. At mental health hospitals I feel like I’m being punished for the way I am, but here they actually try to help me and it works.
