Although it may feel like there’s no escape from addiction to methamphetamine, meth rehab helps individuals overcome substance abuse. Our team of therapists, case managers, doctors, and substance abuse counselors will teach you how to make sobriety a reality. Even more, you will learn skills for dealing with cravings and triggers when they arise. The best way to stay committed to sobriety is to devote yourself to learning the roots of your addiction in rehab. We’ll walk you through what that looks like.

What Is Meth Rehab?

Meth is a stimulant drug that creates euphoric feelings by flooding the body with dopamine and other positive chemical messengers. It specifically targets the nervous system so the individual feels more energetic, attentive, and focused. And yet, individuals can quickly become dependent on the drug, so they need more in order to prevent withdrawal symptoms. These include all the opposite effects the drug once produced—exhaustion, sluggishness, trouble concentrating, and poor cognition. Meth rehab is a treatment program that aids individuals in escaping the cycle of addiction. Through growth in levels of care, it teaches individuals to prioritize sobriety through therapy, coping mechanisms, and trigger prevention.

Is Meth Dangerous?

Yes, methamphetamine is a highly addictive substance that can lead to overdose and death. Both meth and crystal meth are dangerous. It’s difficult to quit on your own, which makes treatment the only option to overcome the risks of meth use.

What to Expect During Meth Rehab

Meth rehab shouldn’t feel daunting. If you enter treatment through Aliya Health Group, we assure you you’ll be treated like an individual, not a disorder. Through each step of recovery, our focus is on you, your goals, your needs, and your progress. All rehabilitation starts with an initial assessment. From here, you’ll work with your case manager to create a personalized treatment plan that includes therapy and counseling. Notably, we offer a mix of traditional and experiential options, so you can experiment to find what resonates.

Initial Assessment

During your initial assessment, our intake team will ask you questions about your drug abuse, background, home life, and profession. This is to gather an understanding of your needs because some individuals require flexible programming. Further, the aim is to understand you and set goals for recovery while exploring possible programming timelines. Your team wants the best for you, so you can be completely honest during this time. You are welcome to bring friends or family to this meeting.

Individualized Treatment Plans

Each individual who enters rehab works through an individual service plan (ISP). Since flexibility and customizability are goals in rehab, this plan can be modified throughout treatment if needed. Details such as therapy options, timelines, medication management, and recovery goals are outlined in the ISP.

Skilled Clinicians

One of the most important elements making up a quality treatment center is the team of clinicians. At Aliya’s meth rehab centers, our clinicians and therapists are experts on addiction and substance abuse recovery. Every member of our staff brings valuable insight and a caring approach to meth rehabilitation.

Meth Use Statistics

Meth is widely used in the United States, whether the person tries it recreationally or faces a daily addiction. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) estimates that 6 percent of Americans aged 12 and above have experimented with meth. Drug use starts young, with many high schoolers admitting to trying meth as early as eighth grade. It may seem like a harmless experiment, but in 2021, over 32,500 people died from psychostimulant overdose, including meth.

Is Meth Addiction Treatable?

Meth recovery is entirely possible through rehab in an addiction facility. On your own, escaping the hold of meth can be insurmountable. Truthfully, meth rehab centers are the safest place to recover from meth addiction. You will be surrounded by supportive staff and peers as you engage in therapy sessions and learn sobriety skills.

What Therapies Are Used to Treat Meth Addiction?

We utilize a combination of traditional therapy procedures and holistic therapy practices. The harmony of both types of recovery programming ensures each individual receives healing for their whole self, including mind, body, and spirit. Also, different people connect to different therapies, so experiencing a mixture leads to better breakthroughs.

Evidence-based Treatment in Meth Rehab

Our evidence-based therapy options are traditional psychotherapy. Clients enter individual and group therapy sessions. Further, they work with their therapist to determine what type of therapy is the most beneficial for their issues. Options include:

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Acceptance and commitment therapy
  • Dialectical behavior therapy
  • Exposure therapy
  • Rational emotive behavior therapy

Holistic Treatment During Meth Rehab

As mentioned, we also believe holistic treatment is imperative to our clients’ healing. We encourage them to explore multiple experiential treatments. Across Aliya’s facilities, we offer the following and more:

  • Sound therapy
  • Music therapy
  • Meditation-based therapy
  • Mindfulness
  • Equine-assisted therapy
  • Outdoor activity therapy
  • Art therapy
  • Play therapy

  • Movement therapy
  • Tai chi
  • Yoga

For any further questions about our therapy options, please contact our intake team!

How Long Is Meth Rehab?

The exact length of rehab for methamphetamine depends on a variety of factors based around the person. Their history of abuse, environment, home situation, polysubstance abuse, and co-occurring issues all contribute to what they need to receive from rehab. For this reason, we separate treatment into levels of care. Starting with detoxification, individuals can either move through the levels or enter the level they’re ready for. Your intake advisor will help you understand what your timeline could look like.

Levels of Care for Meth Rehab

We divide treatment into various levels of care. These allow individuals to feel a sense of progress as they advance through the stages. Further, they allow individuals to enter the level that’s right for them if they aren’t working through the stages linearly.

Meth Detox

Individuals with substances in their system begin treatment with detox. Generally, methamphetamine detox lasts eight days, during which the client is monitored for safety and comfort. Our medical team can administer comfort medications to help reduce withdrawal symptoms when needed.

Inpatient Meth Treatment

The stages of inpatient treatment are the beginning of rehab. During residential inpatient care, individuals live in the center and engage in daily therapy and counseling sessions. Partial hospitalization is the next stage, with fewer hours spent in treatment and clients returning home at night. Lastly, partial hospitalization has further reduced weekly hours spent in sessions. Clients can enter directly into partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient rehab if they need the flexibility of living at home.

Outpatient Programs for Meth

Outpatient meth treatment is the last structured level of care. Notably, it’s designed for individuals who have completed inpatient treatment and are ready to hold more independence in their sobriety. They continue to unpack their emotions and habits in therapy while learning coping mechanisms and relapse prevention plans.

Aftercare

Aftercare is a treatment stage for individuals who’ve completed inpatient and outpatient rehab and want to stay connected to support. As part of aftercare, we provide sober housing options, case management, support group meetings, sober events, and resources like Crystal Meth Anonymous. You are a part of the Aliya family for life, and we’ll continue to help you during sobriety.

Is Meth Rehab Safe?

Trying to rehabilitate from methamphetamine abuse on your own is difficult. In fact, it’s almost impossible to overcome meth addiction alone because your brain has adapted to require the substance.
